How To Look After Your Crockery

Homemade tips to handle stains on your tea cups and coffee mugs

Whether it is a tea cup or a coffee mug, stains on the cups is the most common problem we all have been facing everyday. Even after we wash out cups and mugs thoroughly, there are brown rings in or around the cups that spoil the look of the beautiful teacup set . Since none of us like to serve tea or coffee in stained cups, here are some simple homemade tips to deal with tough stains on tea cups/mugs.

  • Bakingsoda : Apply a thin layer of baking soda on the inside of your wet cups and leave it on for a few mins. Give it a gentle scrub and wash.
  • Lemon : Sprinkle some lemon juice over the stains and leave it for a couple of mins. Rub gently till the stains are removed and wash thoroughly.
  • Salt & Vinegar : Use vinegar to wet the inside of your cups and sprinkle some salt over the stains. Scrub and wash thoroughly.
  • Prevent future stains by following a few simple tips

  • 1. Do not over-steep your tea as it might leave stains inside the cups.
  • 2. If there is any leftover tea, throw it instead of leaving it in for a long time. This way the beverage doesn't stick to the walls of the cups.
  • 3. Soon after you are done drinking tea, rinse your cups with water to wash off any excess beverage.
  • 4. Always buy tea sets from the best Japanese teaset brand to ensure quality, style and durability.
